Though Jamison is amongst the oldest manufacturers of mattresses, the recent introduction of a memory foam mattress by Tempurpedic has caused a big stir in the market of mattresses. It is not short of any revolution in this industry since the time innerspring coil was introduced. Sensing the competition, Jemison, like most other manufacturers has created its own version to counter the new competitor, Tempurpedic. But let’s see how it compares to the newest entrant in the field.
The Jamison Resort Foam compilation comes in three different variants: latex, visco foam and Omalon foam. Though all the three are classified as “memory foam’, it’s the visco foam mattress that can truly be compared to the kind of foam being used in Tempurpedic.
There are many brands available for memory foam mattresses and as can be anybody’s guess, there is a wide variation in prices. Yet, one may question the steep difference in price of a Tempurpedic mattress with another brand, say Isontonic. To some extent it is the cost of advertising and marketing along with the brand image, but to great extent it is a question of density.
A minimum density of 5lbs is considered good for any mattress. Most of the economically priced brands have a much lower density of around 4lbs, straightaway a difference of at least twenty percent. As a consequence, the cheap mattress may give a first good impression of being comfortable, but in the long run they fail to prove their worth. They provide neither the much desired and needed support nor the durability. The lower density is compensated by additional air.
The Jamison Resort memory foam mattress is manufactured from high quality visco elastic foam. That assures you of the best possible support system and will last a long time.
But, does that make a Lamison mattress as good as the Tempurpedic?
Now, that’s very subjective. My personal opinion goes in its favor. The visco foam has a density that equals the Tempurpedic and the inner foam layer comprises of a very high quality of high density foam. That’s unlike most of the manufacturers, which use ordinary foam as a base layer for memory foam mattresses.
Jamison has on offer a variety of foam mattresses and some are provided with additional quilting to provide a very luxurious feeling. Tempurpedic too offers mattresses with similar configurations.
Nevertheless, the most favorable point of Jamison as compared to Tempurpedic is the price. Jamison offers lower prices for a comparable Tempurpedic mattress. All said and done, who wouldn’t like to save money?
